pragma code_seg not working

Hi 
I am working on powerpc processor with ecos operating system.
I want to place a specific code segment in specific part of the flash.
I used #pragma code_seg ( section name)

but the compiler is giving warning that 
ignoring the #pragma code_seg

could someone help me on how to acheive this
