Just to be clear: you'll see those issues if you run checkpatch.pl against your patch.
You can check for coding stile violations on the latest applied patch with:
hg log -r -1 -v -p| ./v4l/scripts/checkpatch.pl --no-tree -
If you haven't commit the patch yet, you can use this:
make checkpatch
The output of make checkpatch is similar to gcc errors, so you can use your
favorite development IDE for handling such error/warnings if you want.
