Title: Call for Abstracts: 2012 National STD Prevention Conference

Abstract submission is now open for the 2012 National STD Prevention Conference.  For more information regarding presentation formats and submission deadlines, please visit the call for abstracts page on our conference website.

New this year: Program Showcase!
We would like to invite program staff from project areas funded by the Division of STD Prevention at CDC to submit one poster abstract profiling a program activity or series of activities.

In choosing which activity or activities to highlight, project areas should consider the potential benefits of sharing this experience with their peers, including: preliminary or final results and implications from promising programs; program development and implementation challenges and successes along with lessons learned; the use of or opportunities for quality improvement; and/or innovative new methods for STD prevention and control within project areas.

Project areas should consider submission of activities which have succeeded, partially succeeded, or failed in achieving anticipated results, and should include cost and/or cost-effectiveness data when available. Only one abstract may be submitted per project area. Project areas are encouraged to partner with local health departments or community-based organizations if the activity presented is implemented through one of these venues. Presenters should be prepared to discuss their submission in roundtable format should it be selected for inclusion in the Program Showcase Roundtable session.

Hope to see you in Minneapolis!
