Alva BC640 question

I have an Alva BC640 with the feature pack on it.  Is there a way to set 
things up in linux (Ubuntu 11.04) so that I can use either the braille 
keyboard on the Alva or the regular keyboard?  I know both work in windows 
just not sure how to do this in linux.
