Re: JMicron Raid Problems on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3

If it is not too much to do for you, I would like to try the patch.

I have another sata-device without raid with the new gentoo-system. So it is not really urgent for me. I think I have also the time to wait for the new version.

There's also another related issue with the handling of this controller's metadata - if you're not running raid 0, the device name isn't null terminated.

Added null termination and stripping out the spaces made it work for me.

I can post a fairly simple patch for it if people want it and rc15 is not coming really soon. (Have to clean it up a little to make it presentable)

Andreas,

a patch to solve this issue will be in 1.0.0.rc15.

thats ok and correct, also cfdisk /dev/dm-1 shows me the correct partitions

 ls -lart /dev/mapper/
total 0

drwxr-xr-x 13 root root 8580 2007-10-03 20:58 ..

But the jmicron_GRAID has a lot of spaces at the end of the filename.

If I try a
dmraid -ay dmesg shows me this:
device-mapper: table: 253:2: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed
device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table

Maybe somebody can help me.
