cannot login using getty

Dear ALL,
I have cross compiled busybox and enabled getty feature.I made the entry in inittab also,but at the login prompt when i enter a user "a" which i created,it gives me error as " login: cannot set groups: No such file or directory"

i have "group" file in etc also.

Please can any one help me to solve the problem.
