Lots of redraw events, doesn't surprise me that it flickers. Use a window manager that moves an outline of the window instead of the whole window. Good old twm did it that way. It had to because at that time there were only dumb framebuffers without any kind of acceleration. I guess the cirrus framebuffer is just such a dumb framebuffer so don't expect fancy tricks that need 2D acceleration to work. > I understood that Cirrus FB is not concerned with this as this is > entirely handled by Xserver which is from xorg in my situation. The framebuffer still has to accept the read/writes from the X server. > In general when windows are moved, what functions are invoked. These > must be in Xserver and not in kernel framebuffer. I suggest you ask that on a more appropriate forum, like one of the Xorg mailing lists. Erik -- Erik Mouw -- mouw@xxxxxxxxxxxx
