I don't know if this is your specific problem, but the info may be relevant.

The display driver in this chip, or some aspect of Cirrus' fb driver, is faulty.
In all boards I have tried, the maximum resolutions that are stable
are 640x480x24bit, 800x600x16bit or 1024x768x8bit - higher than that
(in any sense) the display jitters: the entire frame image jumps one
pixel to the right for one frame two or three times a second - in much
higher resolutions the frame jumps much further than that - half or
more of the screen right and down.

If you're already using a low enough resolution, maybe you could
describe your "flickering" more explicitly.

That said, Cirrus' fb driver has nothing to do with this mailing list,
which is about mainline linux kernel development...
