I forgot to mention that we are using the AT91RM9200, but not AT91SAM926x. For a successor of my customer's current product we are thinking about using the AT91SAM9260, but if it also has as many bugs as the AT91RM9200, especially in the TWI controller, I will recommend to switch to another manufacturer. Okay, probably Atmel will do some bugfixing but we will see... My customer also has contact to Atmel but that is only on some kind of management level; although it was promised to find technical solutions (not only for AT91/Dataflash problems but also for other Atmel components) nothing happened because the Atmel engineer says that they can't reproduce the errors. We also sent them a faulty product, and finally the Atmel employee had to admit that he doesn't have time to look at the problem. With best regards Andreas Schweigstill -- Dipl.-Phys.
