Yes, of course! But unfortunately not with the hardware TWI but only
with a time consuming bit-banging driver.

I forgot to mention that we are using the AT91RM9200, but not
AT91SAM926x. For a successor of my customer's current product
we are thinking about using the AT91SAM9260, but if it also has as
many bugs as the AT91RM9200, especially in the TWI controller, I
will recommend to switch to another manufacturer. Okay, probably
Atmel will do some bugfixing but we will see...

My customer also has contact to Atmel but that is only on some kind
of management level; although it was promised to find technical
solutions (not only for AT91/Dataflash problems but also for other
Atmel components) nothing happened because the Atmel engineer says that
they can't reproduce the errors. We also sent them a faulty product,
and finally the Atmel employee had to admit that he doesn't have
time to look at the problem.
