Before starting to write new drivers from scratch, it's a good idea to
check what's already available. In most cases it's better to use (or
improve, if necessary) existing drivers instead of rolling your own.

your options are:
a) use vendor kernels  (2.4.21-rmk1-c*, 2.6.8.1 "ursus", etc)
b) join our project to get EP93xx support into mainline [1]
c) roll your own

you might want to try for yourself see what works best for you
