I did this just yesterday and everything has worked well for me so far. I have
Dataflash and NAND working, I've been verifying large file reads using a JFFS2
file system on my NAND Smartmedia card with no problems. i.e. it works straight
out of the box for me.

1) I used the 2.6.12-rc1 kernel from:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/testing/linux-2.6.12-rc1.tar.gz

2) Now apply the latest MTD patch, I used the daily tarball from:
ftp://ftp.uk.linux.org/pub/people/dwmw2/mtd/cvs/

3) Now apply the latest vrs1 patch:
http://maxim.org.za/AT91RM9200/2.6/2.6.12-rc1-at91.patch.gz

4) Configure, compile and execute!
