On my workstation libstdc++.so.5 in the compat-libstdc++ rpm... you can run this: rpm -q compat-libstdc++.x86_64 to verify that it's installed. If it's not you can run: yum install compat-libstdc++.x86_64 and that should fix it. As for your video problem .. I have no idea :) .. if you run startx from runlevel 3 does it still lock up?
