OT - Tyan S2880UGNR Opteron motherboards

Sorry this message is not specific to GinGin64, but I figure there would
be people on this list who would know about this situation.  Early May I
ordered two Opteron servers from one vendor, but for weeks it seems that
they had been lying to me about reasons for shipment delays.  Their
latest excuse is this:

"They came out of invoice status due to a last minute problem with the
motherboards. The Opteron systems are new technology and the
motherboards are not performing as they should. Our engineering
department has been in contact with AMD regarding this issue and are
trying to resolve it today."

Has anyone heard of any issues with this Tyan S2880UGNR motherboard?  If
not, it seems that this vendor is giving me the runaround. =(
