Re: GinGin64 Refuse to install

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Mine is from CCSI, I'm not sure if Racksaver using the
Newisys or others like Rioworks but I don't think is
my Cd-Rom problem.

Because I have 2 Opteron server, it's almost the same
configuration except one is using The Onboard
SerialATA Raid controller + Western Digital Raptor 36
GB HDD, the other one is using my Old Adaptec 29160
SCSI Card + Fujitsu MAM 15Krpm 18gb HDD.

The one w/ SATA I got nothing to say because promise
didn't make any drivers for it... but the SCSI one,
GinGin 64 Do have drivers for AIC7xxx adapters but for
some reason it just "won't load" no matter what. but
when I use the Redhat9(2.4.20kernel) and
Redhat8(2.4.18) everything works out like a champ.

Anyway like the installation said this is only a
technology preview so it's "expected" to "not-work" on
some system.

But I think Redhat should hurry up and try to get
something that works ASAP, because if Redhat cannot
push something out in a month, I'll have to get The
one from SuSe(Their Linux works) but since I like
Redhat better I want to wait abit more and see what
happens.
