Sigh, one happy piss off user of Opteron.... Its not bad or anything, but sadly there's no driver support at all ... I brought 2 Opteron servers, 1 Barebone (because I have used parts) and one Brand new (Full Equip) First one, Bare Bone, have the following : Dual Opteron 240 Rioworks HDAMA Motherboard (Most ppl use this right?) 2 GB x 256 = 2GB Ram Adaptec 29160 SCSI Card (PCI66MHz, my old card) Fujitsu MAM 15K RPM 18GB HDD (Used as well, couple of months) Slim CD-Rom 16x 1u Rackmount /w 350 W power supply This system, works 100% on Redhat 8, didn't try 9, but I'm 100% sure GinGin64 doesn't work, because ... No driver for the Adaptec 29160 SCSI card... Second System, Full Equip: Dual Opteron 240 Same Rioworks mobo Same amount of Ram 2GB WDC Raptor 10K RPM SATA HDD same thing, GinGin64 doesn't have the Promise SATA Driver at all, I looked up their web site they only have drivers for 2.4.18............sigh, the only thing that work is RH8 again ....... sighhhh man I mean, come on ..... at least have the drivers for 29160 ... it's a popular card .......
