Is anyone else running into problems installing gingin? I downloaded the iso's and burned them to CDs. MD5sums checked out OK as does the cd check at the begining of the install. I also burned another copy of disk one just to make sure it wasn't a media problem. I'm able to boot off the first CD and get to the installer. I then configure disk in disk druid (1024 /boot, 4096 /, 8192 swap, all the rest /usr) and set up the eth0 info. After setting the root password, the system just hangs at "reading packages". Once it started up so I deciede to reset the system and see if I could figure out why it was stalling on reading packages. However I can't get it past the reading packages dialog even accepting all the defaults (which is what I did to get it running that one time). This happens in both the gui and text mode. The hardware I think is fine as I had Suse running on it without problems before I tried to install RH. I'm using a duel opteron system with 8 gigs of ram on a rio works system board with the latest bios updates. Any ideas? Thanks, -ERIC -- Eric Bermender Industrial Light + Magic
