nforce3 support? mix&match rpms? | |

Does the kernel support the nvidia nforce chipset? Should we prefer another chipset to avoid playing with soon-to-be-available-binary-drivers? Can we mix and match rhl9 and gingin64 binaries in order to have a mostly 32 bits system that is able to run 64 bits apps? Mostly scientific apps in my case. I am thinking of installing rh9, replacing the kernel by the amd64 kernel, installing the 64bit libs in /lib64 and /usr/lib64, and finally instally the 64 bit gcc. Has this been tried before? - L. B.
