Delta nonstop to L.A. starts Sunday

Wichita city officials are ready to celebrate the
inauguration of nonstop airline service between
Mid-Continent Airport and Los Angeles International
Airport.

A ceremony is planned for Sunday morning when Delta
Connection's first flight to L.A. is scheduled to
depart.

The service starts with one daily flight. ExpressJet
Airlines operates the flight as Delta Connection using
a 50-seat Embraer 145XR regional jet.

The Delta flight will be the only nonstop service
between Wichita and Los Angeles until Sept. 5 when
United Express flights operated by Skywest will give
travelers a second option for nonstop service to the
West Coast.
