mrtg has the shorter name and all other things being equal, that will cause it to be selected
I would think the 'correct' answer would be to 'fix' mrtg so that it doesn't tell yum/rpm that it is providing something that others can't find/use.

My only recourse (at the moment) seems to be to manually install perl-SNMP-Session first, and then MyPackage.
or run: yum install mypackage.rpm perl-SNMP-Session or add a pkg-specific dep into mypackage. -sv
