   Sounds to me it is a BIOS bug. since it is a different board and 
this board may contain a differnet BIOS revison, then
   what was orginally installed.
   Have you tried booting with the acpi off, something like acpi=off. I 
had problems with acpi before with
   different OS due to BIOS bugs.
