I filed a fedora 9 report which was promptly marked as a duplicate
of this one :-).

That's was a good idea, but I tried it, and nouveau acts identical
to nv (an impression reinforced by the fact that the nouveau driver
man page is bit for bit identical to the nv driver man page). It
looks like it really is a different driver though because the
log says NOUVEAU everywhere instead of NV.
