Hello all,
I've seen that the most recent version of Solaris (Express) has removed
support for older SPARC machines, and Oracle's takeover has made
Solaris/SPARC fairly dismal since no patches are being offered for free
anymore and disallowed commercial use without a support contract. I
guess it is time to ditch Solaris.
I'd like to know what the latest version of Fedora Core I should be
using. From the "Secondary Architectures/SPARC" wiki page
(http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/SPARC) it looks like it is
"12-Beta". Is this correct?
My main goal is to hack on the nouveau project to see if I can get a
secondary PCI-based nvidia card to function with hardware accelerated
OpenGL. Success on big-endian PPC has made me believe it is quite
possible. I need fairly recent kernel/Xorg/DRM/DRI set to do this, so
having recent tools/distribution is very helpful.
Thanks,
Patrick
