I know that it is generated by binutils (and driven by gcc's linker stage to include into the resulting binaries) but I believe it is then stripped out as part of the debuginfo generation. Hi,I have the debuginfos installed and the result is still the same. It doesn't even make sense to strip build-ids into debuginfo - their purpose is to get from a raw coredump to proper debuginfo packages, thus the information needs to be present in the coredump itself.
