It seems to me that coolkey would be useful in Debian. I filed an intent to package: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=400843 My initial packaging is based on CVS head, I'd be happy to coordinate the Debian packages with appropriate CVS tags or branches. I'll ask this list for guidance.
