If the printer supported USB as well, I'd be more inclined to get a
PCI USB card or USB/Firewire combo card. IMHO, the interrupt
delivery/management and data transfer speed for USB is superior...

If the parallel port is fried on the mobo, you prolly have no option
but an add-in card anyway.
