I hope you would use "install" mode of rpm (not update). Keep the old kernels. I believe that kernel should work with AC1 versions of packages above. I can't be sure because I don't have AC1. I did modify mkinitrd script a little bit. Some how the "init" script from initrd could not start "udevstart" execurtable from "/sbin" directory (which is defined as symbolic link to "/bin"). I modified the "init" script to start udevstart from /bin. The udev and selinux packages are unmodified. It seems that new udev takes less time during startup.OBTW, the dependencies when you try to install the new kernel RPM are: 1. mkinitrd 2. udev 3. selinux This seems a might dangerous (esp. udev); should it be OK if one just used "--nodeps" or "--force", to avoid having to update these others?
